Move!
Uma pessoa a andar de canoa com uma cadeira perto

By speaking about accessibility in “my brother’s” João Henriques website I must point out how accessible he is. Accessible because it’s easy to meet the ideas he stands for: accessibility for all.

As for the subject I was asked to write about, it’s important to say that accessibility in sports is not just giving mobility-impaired people the right to attend sports events.

Sports must be played
There’s no use in having sports facilities just for watching. We urgently need new or adapted facilities where everybody is given the opportunity to play sports.

One has to want in order to play
Standing out and criticizing the lack of conditions and saying the system is to blame for everything must stop being the some guy’s favourite sport. So… You need to want… And you need to act.

How?

By forming clubs, associations, groups, etc., call them what you will, but get together to demand the right to play sports.

It doesn’t even need to be in a formal way.

That is, sports isn’t just having official championships. There’s room for leisure sports playing too.

Sports are every physical activity we manage to do with pleasure.
