In this contemporaneous society of ours where people tend to be selfish due to hard competition in order to achieve their goals, people tend to do things without consideration for others.
I dare to ask, do we have to prove anything to someone?
In this crazy life we lead, we might add fast food, , lack of rest, sedentary life, accelerated work rhythm during the week and weekends full of excess. This is certainly a portrait of west societies as the root to citizen health problems.
For long Portugal has had the desire of being one of the developed countries in the world. At the time of the inclusion of Portugal in the European community, our country started to grow so much and so fast that we need to ask ourselves if it will be prepared to help all its citizens with special needs. These people have been victims of our country negligence and irresponsibility.
We, quickly, discover that we are not prepared to do it.
When we talk about a severe physical handicap that forbids us from driving our own car, the problem is indeed serious due to the lack of public transports accessibility. Depending on someone is terrible and solitude and isolation are fierceless. That is when we come to find out that the world stopped!
It is as if we have never existed. The world passes by but we do not se the world!
As we, all know the lack of mobility is one of the great problems of people with physical handicaps but, in these days, we already have equipments that help those people to pursue short or medium distances to go to work, go for a walk or for daily tours. These equipments give these people full autonomy and a perfect mobility although they are sill in need for technical development.
In Portugal, these equipments are quite rare, bad advertised and extremely expensive for Portuguese people. Given this situation, it is legitimate to ask if the Portuguese State doesn’t advertise these vehicles so that he doesn’t have to sponsor them? Is there a cleaver formula to diminish fragile citizen public expenses?
The answer seems obvious….
Quovis - adapted car

This is a car made for people in wheel chairs.
Quovis was build so that it could be driven sitting in the wheel chair.
The driver does not need to put himself into the vehicle bench.
You enter it through the back, through a door that works with a remote control that opens totally allowing the entrance of the wheel chair.
The chair is fixed and it stays totally immobilized as if it was a part of the car.
It offers different innovating systems that allow to equip the car with several adjustments for an easy ride.

Carony - rotative car bench

This car facilitates the driver access to the car interior with comfort and safety.
This could be the perfect solution for because the bench slides towards the exterior, therefore rising the moving space and it allows the help of others.
These types of benches can be used both for the driver as well as for the passenger, depending on the authorization given.

Note : we cannot forget the role of Institutions or Associations in the total support towards individuals with special needs.
However, they often come across financial and economical problems that do not allow them to satisfy the needs of those with little mobility. In these cases, the State should have something to say making available human resources as well as vehicle resources so that they can offer a good life to these citizens.
For individuals with physical limitations the resource to Associations becomes, most of the times, the last chance to move a bit. If we stop we die!
