The lack of accessibility is something that I always
kept thinking about and it sometimes troubled me to the point I’d
try to move mountains.
That was what made me do this site – to call the attention
for the fact that many places don’t have the necessary accessibility
infrastructures.
I’m sure it’s important to call the attention with my
personal experience so that other people in the future don’t
have to go through the same – lack of accessibility.
After a year browsing the web I think it’s time for a balance.
The counter and emails show one thing:
- The goals are being met.
But maybe what moved me the most was the number of people willing
to cooperate, and those who already did it wanting to do it harder.
And there’s another very important conclusion: while many Portuguese
build infrastructures meant to send millions of euros into the net,
those in charge of governing keep on saying we have no money.
We have a group of collaborators voluntarily working on this website
who only think of having a more accessible country. They give everything
and ask for nothing in exchange.
Only with their effort it was possible for this site to meet it’s
goals.
Prof. Luís Vidal – for being my spelling checker.
ARCIL – for the hardware
Prof. Ana Correia, Prof. Ana Vaz, Michael Vaz, Eduardo Basto (Sociologist) - for the English translations
Dr. Natália Correia - Jurista
Prof. Carlos Sêco – cartunista residente
And all of those who expressed their opinions or supported this
cause.
